About our Schools - Why We Soar above the rest!

The L.I. Ninjutsu Centers offers unparalleled martial arts instruction at extremely reasonable prices. Group classes for all ages are taught six nights per week with daytime classes for adults and a world renowned Little Warrior Program for children 3-5 years old early mornings and early evenings. We also offer private lessons to fit your schedule. Of course, newcomers are always given a complimentary class and Kyoshi Allie Alberigo and his staff of licensed instructors teach all the classes. We welcome invitations from any groups such as Public and Private schools, PTA’s, Youth Groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sports Teams, Private Fund Raisers etc. for our Demonstration Team to come and perform, or have a representative come and speak to your group.

Licensing is something Kyoshi Allie takes very seriously within his organization.  Being a leading business consultant he believes strongly in quality and education.  Just recently a mom of one of our students came to me with a very interesting question.  1) Is there a governing body that over see’s martial arts schools.  2) Will all of this martial art training and money invested help my child with college.

The answer to question one is no, there are no governing bodies that dictate a specific knowledge base required for martial art instruction.  Simply put anyone can claim to be a black belt. In fact, I have had many students who didn’t earn their teaching license or had it taken away from them open up their own schools.  There is not a thing I or anyone can do about it.  I only suggest you check thoroughly the credentials of a martial art instructor in three ways, a) visit them and interview them, make sure you trust your gut and feel that you or your child are in the right hands.  b) Ask they show you some legitimacy of ranking, certification, seminars but remember with technology today, anyone can make a certificate or falsify documentation.  Also do not be fooled by organizational certification.  I have seen first hand how black belts are awarded by grandmasters as long as they are paying their dues to the required organization.  It is very hard to form a governing body of martial arts because, there are hundreds of arts, styles, systems and quite frankly they all have different philosophies, ideals, requirements, and protocol.  To be honest there are thousands that are legitimate.  I recommend you do your due diligence and research.  (check out section – About our Head instructor) c) If there were licensing what would it be – the answer to your question is next.

Kyoshi custom designed a licensing program called his “Instructor training program” many years ago, to eliminate the chance of inferior instruction.    Many martial arts studio owners have hired Kyoshi to help them with the licensing of their instructors and set up boundaries and requirements.  Although a Black Belt is called by the respected title of Sensei and has worked diligently and for a minimum of 5 years to achieve this rank and title in L.I. Ninjutsu, they are not a full fledged instructor with our schools.  There is an extreme difference of the two at L.I. Ninjutsu Centers.

For many schools, you earn your Black Belt and the right to teach.  Within L.I. Ninjutsu Centers there are a host of abilities; tests and training an instructor must undergo in order to have that privilege to pass on their knowledge.  Each instructor is licensed and of the utmost quality and ability. What does this mean to you?  Simply put an instructor has to have a wide range of abilities, yet in most schools once you receive your Black Belt you are considered to be of instructor quality.  Kyoshi equates that theory to a person graduating college – just because you received your degree, doesn’t give you the qualities, experience and specified teaching knowledge to make you a great teacher.  There are many people who are outstanding martial artists physically, they may even be the toughest fighters in the world, but they still do not have teaching ability. At our centers the goal is long term.  Anyone can learn to fight within months, but a martial artist is a master of life-skills, fighting skills, philosophy, history, respect and dignity, these are the lessons taught at our centers and gained with years of practice.

There are many different styles of Ninjutsu.  Traditionally the style originated in Japan, but the roots of the system comes from India and China.  The Japanese Martial art which was once shrouded in secrecy is now freely taught at L.I. Ninjutsu Centers.   Kyoshi Allie has been privileged to train with one of best American Ninjutsu Practitioners and the founder of the Circle of One System Shihan Felix Vazquez then traveling to and training for over a decade in Japan in the Genbukan. Due to the politics in all the systems, he has chosen to take another path incorporating his vast knowledge and over 4 decades of training freeing his students from the political hierarchy.  The Style now taught by Kyoshi Alberigo is  titled “21st Century Ninjutsu.”

L.I. Ninjutsu Centers now has three locations in Long Island with one school in Bermuda which is the largest school on the island with over one hundred students and a satellite location in Virginia.
