Emails on Warrior Diet
A time for open conversation
Hello Sir,
You must have a host of people yelling at you for the video to say "...... Or if you just want to yell at me, just click here" I'm not going to be one of them. It's a shame we do what we do, on that we agree.
However, I don't think it's the eating of meat that is bad per say. I'l share my opinion on this if you'll entertain me for a moment. In the natural world, as we both know, animals routinely eat other animals. We are animals, despite what we wish to believe to the Contrary. Animals do not however raise other animals in such cruel conditions for the sole purpose of food. I don't think it's necessary to stop eating meat, yet cutting down on it, and also eating animals that are only ethically treated, I.E. Raised in the outdoors and allowed the right, as we all have, to be what they are, if only for a moment.
It's the industry that needs to change. Being a vegetarian may be good for some, but to really stop the cruelty a middle ground must be found. This would require a shift in philosophy of the masses. We don't seems to like a middle ground in this country. That though is for another discussion. I just thought I'd share a thought or two with you. I do thank you for posting that video. it has to start somewhere, and with someone. Thank you for taking the time to read my 2AM ramble and have a wonderful and blessed week.
Regards,
Michael L Capanelli
Dear Michael:
Thanks for taking the time to email me. It sounds like we are totally on the same page in regards to the concept and philosophies. But there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy on the end result.
I do have to disagree that just because things have been a particular way, then that is the way we should stay. For example you say in the natural order of things, animals eat animals and we are animals. I don't consider myself and animal, nor do you. What separates us from the animal world is choice and intelligence. Plus we have always had the intelligence enough to make choices. So choice is everything.
There are animals that have absolutely changed and evolved over years. Do house pets still attack their masters. If so they wouldn't be house pets, but in the wild or even being left in the wild for a period of time, they will either revert back or die. So many times they do change. It is irrelevant whether we have freedom of choice, more so that we make the correct choice. When I say correct choice it is obvious our society has a difficult time with this. Of course I am generalizing. The masses tend to act similarly, and the minority seem to be the ones that institute change. I can't change society - yet I am one man, but I certainly do not mind rattling some cages at times.
People live in what I call an Otrich society, with much of their lives they have their head in the sand. Sadly enough, this is why we are in our socieity now and dealing with the moral issues, financial etc. I am not lecturing. Just talking.
I would like to ad, that compassion is something we all feel, empathy is something that is developed through maturity, understanding and enlightenment. We as a society have to realize it is not about what we always want like spoiled children it is about what is right, just and good for our world and planet.
Once people start making sacrifices, and thinking globally they will get it. I witnessed two young teenagers throw an entire bag of garbage out their window of their car the other day, when a garbage was less then 10 foot away. Are they bad people? The answer is no, they are just not on the correct path and their awareness is down. They don't realize they are a part of the problem. When they look back, they will hopefully regret their actions, but now is the time that we have to deal with it. Eating meat is a small part of my efforts to help this world we live.
In spirit;
Kyoshi
